Second flying leg

Today was almost entirely travelling.

We rose early at the Regal Airport Hotel, which was very comfortable, and headed into the airport to check in. That process was all very smooth again. Checking bags, passing through departures, security, etc, was all as relaxed as you might hope it to be.

The waiting for the plane and the whole trip were uneventful and unremarkable. We both watched films, read a little, and dozed a litte. Twelve hours of travelling ennui.

Arrival at Charles De Gaulle was also unproblematic. Clearance was less rigorous than entering Australia, it seemed.

We were met at the airport by the lovely Birgit, who with her excellent husband, Eric, is hosting us in Paris. The 'luxury' of being collected at the airport and driven directly home was greatly appreciated by both of us.

Eric and Birgit have welcomed us to their home and we have feasted on the back deck in the totally beautiful French summer evening. A good, long night's sleep is in the offing for both of us.
